There are many different ways to help us look after Walpole Old Chapel, by giving your time and your support.
Ownership of the Chapel will be transferred from the Historic Chapels Trust to The Friends of Walpole Old Chapel (Charity No: 1198030) in spring 2026. The Board of FWOC has six trustees, supported by an active group of Friends and Patrons and dedicated local volunteers.
Why not consider getting more directly involved. You might like to join the growing number of Friends who help to cover the running costs needed to keep the Chapel open and well-used. We also have a range of interesting and rewarding volunteering opportunities available. Please contact Simon Weeks, Secretary, FWOC, for more information.
Alternatively, you may prefer to keep up to date with what’s happening at the Chapel in other ways. You might want to come to our events during the summer season, follow our updates on the News section of the website or contact us to join the mailing list for our quarterly newsletter.
This is an exciting time for the Chapel! Unwrapped our major fundraising campaign to support the renovation and repairs of the building is on-going. Through a major grant of £374,000 from the National Heritage Memorial Fund, topped up with donations from national supporters of the HCT and donations from local people, the first phase of the Unwrapped project was completed in December 2025. We are just embarking on the next phase of the project with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
We welcome any support you can give - through a donation or by volunteering your time - to help us complete the restoration of the Chapel and guarantee its future.
