Grave 2, William Moore, born at Walpole, farmed at Peasenhall, [all per C 1841-1871 incl.], appears to have married three times in his long life, two wives buried in this burial ground. Marriage to Sarah, Grave 3:
Entry in the DIED column of the Suffolk Chronicle, Saturday 6 March 1841 [BNA]:
‘On the 26th ult., much lamented by her family and friends, aged 41, Sarah, the beloved wife of Mr.Wm.Moore, farmer, Peasenhall.’
Yes, there are discrepancies between the gravestone and newspaper dates of death and age of deceased. I have no other information.
Sarah’s death in February 1841 ties in with the 1841census which shows no wife in William’s household. There are children listed there: William aged 8, Susan aged 10, Samuel aged 5, Joshua aged 4.
I suggest that son William is the 20-year-old at Grave 3 (logically buried with mother).
I suggest daughter Susannah/Susan is the 23-year-old at Grave 5 [1851C lists, and A results, show her as Susannah, aged 22].
I suggest son Samuel is the 18-year-old at Grave 5, brother and sister buried together. Note this leaves son Joshua, (mother Sarah), unaccounted for, but see note next page re newspaper notice of father William’s death.
